New to Counseling?

Start here.

Since life can be difficult, I believe it’s easier to navigate with a trusted confidant. That’s why I think everyone should have a counselor in their life that puts them at ease.

What should I expect?

In your first session, I will ask simple questions about you and your life. This information helps me make an initial assessment of your situation.

After the 1st visit I will provide you with a treatment plan. From there, we’ll find the right tools to help you face and overcome your challenges.

Why are you seeking therapy?

Usually, it’s one specific issue that led you to seek counseling. Once I understand what that issue is, I’ll probably ask additional questions to see if there are other related issues that also need attention.

It’s also important to understand your personal history and how it connects to your current situation.

What if we’re not a good fit?

It’s okay to try and find the counselor that you like best. That may be me, but in the off chance that it’s not, it’s okay to try to find someone else.

In fact, if you want, I’ll be happy to provide you with three other referrals so you can find the person that best meets your needs.
